Educators understand the importance of providing enough background knowledge to ensure students can fully participate and engage in all that an experience has to offer. This webpage is designed to familiarize you with the selected museums and give you access to curriculum to guide your instruction as you prepare students for their theatre arts experience. The links listed immediately below have general content for your grade level. Site specific curriculum may be linked within the detailed descriptions below. Thank you for your commitment to the students of Dade County as you allow them to experience all that the Miami-Dade County has to offer.

Actors' Playhouse

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
The international musical sensation created by the authors of Evita and Jesus Christ Superstar, is a fun, hip, colorful and tuneful adaptation of the well-known Biblical tale of Joseph. The melodious contemporary score features familiar songs like Close Every Door To Me, Any Dream Will Do, and Go Go Go Joseph. A favorite among Actors’ Playhouse’s many award-winning musicals, Joseph just had a recent revival and tour in the UK with rave reviews. The return of this colorful show validates that everyone’s a dreamer, and through Joseph, audience members will experience a legacy of pure entertainment for the entire family.

Red Study Guide

(by John Logan)
It is
1958 and abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko has just landed the biggest commission in the history of modern art-- a series of murals for New York's famed Four Seasons Restaurant. Raw and provocative, this 2010 Tony Award-winning play is a searing portrait of the ambition, vulnerability and agony inherent in the art of making art.

“A fresh, exciting portrait of a brilliant mind! As much as any stage work I can think of, Red captures the dynamic relationship between an artist and his creations!”
Ben Brantley New York Times
