All secondary grades throughout Miami-Dade County Public Schools are eligible for free Cultural Passport field experiences. Teachers of any discipline may apply for a Class Pass to provide their class with a cultural field experience. Class Passes include student and teacher admission fees and bus transportation at no cost to the school, teacher, or students. Funding for temporary instructors will not be provided.
Teachers may combine several classes into a single Class Pass application by including the total number of students and the names of the teachers whose classes are participating. Please be sure that only one application is being submitted on behalf of a group of students in these instances.
As there are a limited number of Class Passes available, not all field experience requests will be possible. You will be notified by email of the outcome of your request and given further instructions.
To apply for a Class Pass:
- Through the links below please review the cultural experiences available in the areas of Dance, Film, History, Music, Science, Theatre Arts, and Visual Arts.
- Click the Application link in the top menu and complete the online application with your selection.
- Take no further action until you are notified by email of the outcome of your request and given further instructions.
The Cultural Passport program provides free field experiences for students during the regular school day. When students ages 13-22 aren't in school, they can buy tickets for only $5 to the best performances and two for $5 for museums in and around Miami-Dade. With the purchase of one $5 student ticket, a second $5 ticket can be purchased for an individual of any age to join them. Viisit CultureShockMiami.com or Culture Shock on Facebook.
